Law Enforcement Perspectives for CISM Enhancement |
The Law Enforcement Perspectives for CISM Enhancement course provides a dynamic system perspective that examines an individual law enforcement officer with the psychological and emotional pressures of the "Blue Culture." This interactive program will be an in-depth exploration of what is behind the "Blue wall of Silence." This course's emphasis will provide insight and understanding as to the stresses and pressures inherent in law enforcement. Participants will learn crisis intervention techniques needed to support law enforcement officers and organizations. This training has been designed for law enforcement officers and their families, CISM team members serving law enforcement agencies, EAP, Human Resources and mental health professionals who interact with the law enforcement community. At the end of this course, participants will be able to: understand the history of law enforcement, the organizational structure and role of police in society; and conceptualize functional dysfunctional survival skills in a system and how it fits into a law enforcement organization. (14 contact hours). Completion of the Law Enforcement Perspectives for CISM Enhancement class and receipt of a certificate indicating full attendance (14 contact hours) qualifies as a class in ICISF's Certificate of Specialized Training Program.
