South Carolina Law Enforcment Assistance Program
Questions and answers about SCLEAP

Is what I share with the staff and/or volunteer chaplain held in confidence?

Yes! The SCLEAP staff and volunteers must never become a pipeline of information to supervisors. Only in cases where persons are a threat to themselves, to others, or if the law has been violated, does the staff and/or volunteer have a duty to report the information.

Where does SCLEAP fit into the SCDNR structure?

Major Van McCarty oversees SCLEAP activities within SCDNR. Also, he serves as our official liaison to the partnership group.

May I access the SCLEAP staff and volunteer directly?

Absolutely! Simply use the numbers listed on the contact page or call the SCLEAP office at 803-252-2664.
